Term 4 Week 11 Weekly Wrap

Welcome to the final weekly wrap for 2023.

I would like to firstly congratulate our students on their outstanding response during Leap Up.

We have now completed three strong weeks of learning the 2024 curriculum.

Our students have been able to maintain their focus and energy extremely well, and this will set them up for an excellent year in 2024.

I am thrilled to see the pride the students wear their uniform in.

It is quite rare to see someone out of uniform in our classrooms.

Our classrooms are calm and focused on learning.

To our staff who have given every ounce of effort they can to this program, thank you.

I am proud of each and every one of you who has done this.

VCE Results

We have delayed the sending of this wrap to allow for the release of ATAR scores.

This year we are incredibly proud of Tennis Academy Alumni, Ryosuke Shibuya, who was presented to the class of 2023 as the Valedictorian.

Ryo has backed this up with an incredible performance scoring 97.65, and placing him as Dux of Forest Hill College for 2023.

This score positions Ryo in the top 2% of students in the State.

On behalf of all in our community, congratulations Ryo.

 

2024 School Production

This week the cast for the 2024 Production, Mamma Mia was announced.

I would like to congratulate those students who have been successful in securing a part.

I am looking forward to watching the cast build towards a fabulous show in September next year.

STEAM Academy

Our STEAM Academy is now ready to go.

The Robotics arena has been built, the laser cutter in place and the Makers Pace and Lab are complete.

This is going to be a unique academic opportunity that few schools will be delivering.

Watch this space in 2024.

MITS Students

On Wednesday morning last week all of our MITs students families from the NT visited the College.

We gave them a tour around our classrooms.

They felt very comfortable in a space they felt was culturally safe.

This is critical for them.

Their children board in Melbourne, and are a long way from home.

For them to thrive, they must be in a culturally safe environment.

Presentation Evening

This evening, the 2023 Presentation Night will be held.

I look forward to celebrating the academic efforts and achievements of our magnificent students.

In Conclusion

Forest Hill College is a strong and great community.

Through thick and thin, we stick together and support each other.

I am inspired by our community and cannot wait to get the 2024 year rolling again in January.
