Weekly Wrap
Week 2, Term 1
This week we are focusing much of the Weekly Wrap on long serving staff member Vernon Spokes. On Tuesday this week Vernon celebrated the anniversary of his 35th year of teaching at Forest Hill College. Vernon is a much loved Maths and Science teacher and long standing member of the College Leadership Team.
Vernon’s VIA (Values in Action Inventory of Strengths) character strengths are Honesty, Bravery, Kindness, Forgiveness and Love of Learning.
He is known for his attention to detail, his loyalty to the College and his kindness. He is always solution focused, having served as our Operations Leader for many years.
Vernon has always been a teacher who helps students believe in their ability. He has adapted to any role that has been asked of him, showing great versatility and a growth mindset.
Vernon has exceptional knowledge of the College, its processes and its history. With 35 years of experience, Vernon remains open to change and he is passionate about his subject. Vernon is renowned for his saying “Maths is fun”.
It has been and always will be a pleasure to call Vernon a colleague.
On behalf of the College community we say “thanks and congratulations” Vernon. We look forward to working with you for many years to come.

Earlier this week Big Bash League Renegades cricketer Sam Harper visited the College to present some of our indigenous students Renegades indigenous playing uniforms. It was a great thrill for the students to meet and chat with Sam
