Central 1

Week 9 – Term 2

Week 10 has arrived and it has been as busy as the first nine weeks.

On Tuesday evening I attended the Middle Years Music Concert. These students, some of whom have been learning their instruments for as little as 6 months are very talented and performed well. It was lovely to see so many parents there to support their endeavours. Congratulations to the music staff.

On Wednesday our Performing Arts Academy  performed in a showcase including songs from Grease and an original play. There was lots of laughter and the growth demonstrated by our students was exceptional.

On Thursday we had an early start waving our Later Years students off to Central Australia, it wasn’t quite as early as staff had hoped as the bus company got themselves a little turned around finding the school, but we have since heard from Ms Gell and she assures us that the driver is now happy and confident finding his way to Port Augusta as today’s stopping place.

Term Three is already looking very busy as we being our Course Counselling process and planning for 2020 so I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our students and staff a safe and relaxing break.

May I also take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the support I have received this term as Acting Principal. It has been a very positive experience only possible because a number of staff agreed to step into positions to help out. I’d particularly like to thank Russell Lee, Ash Gell and Jess Hendrickson.

Please be aware that your child’s Semester 1 report is now available on Compass. If you have any questions or queries please contact your child’s Year Level Leader by email and they will respond in Week 1 of Term 3.

Have a great two weeks,

Nicky Buckingham
