Welcome to edition 2 of Term 4
Congratulations Class of 24!
Last week we were very excited to receive the news that our Year 12 cohort has received the best results Forest Hill College has ever had.
James L was our Dux with a study score of 93.35.
Our Median study score moved 2 points to 29 and our median English study score moved to 28.
This is excellent news for the class of 24.
Their hard work and dedication has been exemplary and they are now in a position to access the courses of their choosing.
Congratulations to all our staff for the part they have played in these great results.
Class of 2030 Orientation
Last Tuesday, at the statewide orientation day and we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 cohort, remarkably now known as the Class of 2030!
We look forward to working in partnership with them and their families so they too can receive great results in 2030.
Presentation Evening
Our presentation night was a great success on Thursday evening.
It was wonderful to come together as a community to celebrate the success of our students with their families.
This is the first year we have had a professional photographer attend and he took some great photos, we were even able to get a group photo of our staff on the night!
It was a wonderful atmosphere and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the key staff for their skill in organising such a great evening.

Building Works
As you would be aware the $10.9 Million capitol works program is about to commence.
This week we have decanted all areas of the school in preparation for their arrival.
Over the holidays they will set up their compound and on our return to school the exciting project will have commenced.
Due to these works, we will need to close off access to the school driveways and car parks.
This is the perfect opportunity to develop some new drop off and pick up habits, especially in light of the recent tragedy at Auburn South primary school.
I know the community there have had a very difficult time, so our thoughts are with them as we move into the festive period.
We do have a ‘Kiss and Go’ at the front of the school so please make full use of this in 2025.
Students will be able to use the 3 pedestrian gates on Mahoneys Road to access school for the duration of the works.
Reports
Reports have now been published, a few days later than we hoped, as our Leadership team have spent time proof reading and ensuring the information you have received is accurate and informed.
My apologies for the delay. It is this work that ensures we maintain our high standards in all that we do.
Start of 2025 School Year
On Friday 31st January we have our whole College Assembly commencing at 10.30 – all parents are welcome to attend.
I thoroughly recommend attending this assembly as it is wonderful to see our new Year 7s and our Class of 25 coming together as one aspirational community and sets the tone for the year at Forest Hill College.
Finally, I’d like to thank all our staff for their hard work and dedication to our school.
Forest Hill College is going from strength to strength, and I am very proud to play a part in its transformation into a high performing educational setting for our community.
I look forward to welcoming all students back to school in 2025, please note the Term 1 commencement dates for each year level below:
Year 7 & 12 students return Thursday 30th January
Year 8, 9, 10 & 11 students return Friday 31st January

School Library News
On November 29th I had the privilege of presenting at the 2024 School Libraries of Victoria annual conference.
I was asked to present on the ways to maximise a school library on minimal funds.
The session was well attended and received lots of positive feedback.
