Weekly Wrap

our-school-2

Dear all,

Welcome to Week 3. Today marks the final day of remote and flexible learning. It has been an exhausting commitment our students, parents and staff have made and I wanted to acknowledge that, and again take the time to thank everyone for their efforts. We cannot express how excited we are to be welcoming our Year 8, 9 and 10 students back onsite.

Plenty of planning has gone into the final weeks of Year 12 2020, and next week our Year 12 students begin their formal end of schooling celebrations. They will be dressing up in fancy dress themes on three days. They will be participating in a very special Valedictory event following their last day of school on November 5. This event will be live streamed so everyone will have the chance to participate if they wish, inside a covid safe and appropriate forum. Details of the live streaming will be released soon.

This week the College has made the decision to provide the AFL Academy with some support that will enable this program to be delivered for under $500. We also announce that the coach will be Hawthorn triple premiership legend and current Williamstown Football Club coach, Mr Andrew Collins. Andy has been given the brief to improve the standing of this program in the football community and to grow the enrolments in it. We are excited to formally welcome Andy to our team. Any current students interested in joining the AFL Academy for 2021 should speak with Mr Christie or Mr Collins.

Well done to all of our Year 7, VCE and VCAL students for successfully navigating another covid safe week. Everyone is wearing their masks well and we know this contributes to reducing the risk of covid significantly. I want to reinforce that this is a very important community expectation, and I urge all members of our community to continue their commitment to playing their individual role in keeping the virus out of our community. Please, if anyone has symptoms, stay home and get tested, and keep wearing your masks and washing your hands.

Take care, stay safe, stay strong
