Instrumental Music

Forest Hill College boasts some of the best facilities in Whitehorse to support the Performing Arts, with our 400+ seat Theatre, our dedicated band space and our newly renovated recording studio.

Students find that participating in the music program at Forest Hill College provides a great balance between their other academic studies. Participation in a music program increases students feelings of  connectedness to their school and to their fellow musicians.

Forest Hill College offers a dynamic and enriching instrumental music program to students. High quality tuition is available from experienced teachers in the following areas:

  • Woodwind – flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon
  • Brass – trumpet, trombone, French horn and tuba
  • Percussion – drums and keyboard percussion

Instrument hire is available through the college.

The instrumental music program provides a unique opportunity for student leadership. Each year 4 students are selected to lead students within the program.

Students in the Instrumental music program have the opportunity to play in the College’s bands, orchestras and ensembles. This involves regular practice sessions and rehearsals and allows students the opportunity to perform at assemblies and concerts throughout the year.
